*If you are interested in helping to fulfill a child's Small Miracle by purchasing items, helping to fund a special experience or making a restricted donation to this program, please EMAIL or call Elyse at 312.214.1200 x25.

All donations will receive proper acknowledgement for tax purposes.

The goal of the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation's Small Miracle Program is to support pediatric cancer patients (ages 0-19) and their families as they face the many physical, psychological, and financial challenges that accompany the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric cancer. The program is only for residents of Illinois OR patients who are being treated at an Illinois facility. (If you would like to refer a child who meets these guidelines please email ebarson@bearnecessities.org) Currently, other regional areas are being explored to expand the program's outreach.

The program consists of two components:

Doing something special for the child
Providing support services for the family

Funding for large group activities, parties and support groups does not fall under the guidelines of the Small Miracle Program, but should be applied for under the foundation's Information and Support Services grants.

Dear Elyse & Bear Necessities, Thank you so much for the tickets to Monster Jam, access to the pit to meet the drivers and the T-shirt, hat, book and video. Parker and his brother had a blast! They LOVE Monster Jam. It was so wonderful to see the smile on Parker's face. He was truly transported into another world for a few hours. He just couldn't get enough. For all that Parker and other children in his situation battle everyday, it was awesome to be able to put it all on the back burner and enjoy a night of pure fun.
