Record participation for 17th annual cancer run

ALGONQUIN — Bundled in a ski jacket and sporting sunglasses, 6-year-old Teagan Hamiszewski climbed onto the makeshift stage and charmed the crowd while handing out race medals.

The pint-sized emcee from Huntley symbolized so many children just like herself, who are fighting pediatric cancer before even getting a chance to find out what life is all about.
